Newport Rhode Island

There are many interesting attractions for visitors to explore. Newport Tower is an unusual round tower, built from stone. Situated in Touro Park, it is said to have been a working mill in the 17th century but its origins may go back much further. Fort Adams is a fortification going back to 1812 and was converted to a museum of yachting, tracing the history of boating in Newport Rhode Island.  The Redwood Library and Athenaeum, founded in 1747, is the oldest public library in the United States and is housed in an imposing building, designed as a Greek temple. In addition to books, the collection includes art and artifacts.
