Who invented Pilates?
Pilates was developed in the 1920’s by Joseph Pilates, the founder of the “Pilates method”. As a child, Joseph Pilates had asthma and rheumatic fever. He became determined to grow stronger and healthier and as a result he started practicing yoga as well as ancient Roman and Greek exercises.
