No doubt that mutual fund ratings would be your best bet when it comes to choosing an appropriate fund. It not only allows you to compare ratings of various funds, but also helps you predict their performance considering the fact that the ratings are done on the basis of their past performance. Such mutual fund ratings are usually reliable and give you a definite guideline however relying on any one rating system may not be a good idea. You need to consider systems that can help you evaluate a fund’s performance based on variables other than past performance. Rating systems may have different parameters for rating funds and therefore offer varying results. You need to thus consider ratings offered by different rating systems and then choose a fund that has been offered high ratings by majority of rating companies.
