When Did The Amd Athlon Make Its Debut?

During the same year, NexGen was purchased by AMD, with the sole purpose of obtaining the rights to their Nx series of x86-compatible processors. With AMD’s support in terms of infrastructure, finance and even time, the Nx686 was reworked, which culminated in the introduction of the K6 processor in the year 1997.

In the year 1999, the K7, AMD’s seventh generation x86 processor, was introduced under the brand name Athlon. This was how Athlon made its debut. In the year 2001, Amd Athlon XP processor was released.
