Discovering what makes you tick
One of the things people tend to be most curious about is what makes other people tick. We can turn that lens of observation upon ourselves as well to discover more about ourselves, namely, what careers suit our individual personalities?
Instead of taking a cookie cutter approach to shaping your
Career Planning, you can sit down at the drawing board and muse a bit. If you are already in a particular job and career, you may be able to carve out your own niche that incorporates more of your actual preferences. Among the important questions to ruminate over to discover more about your preferred career are: what are your natural skills or talents, what subjects interest you, what values do you hold, is there a particular job you’ve always dreamed about or someone in a profession who really inspires you, and do you have particular lifetime goals you would like to accomplish?
Go through these basic questions and see if you come up with one or more underlying motifs, which you can investigate further upon in terms of specific jobs related to those themes. Learning what makes you tick is also learning what makes you feel fulfilled at the end of the day.
