July 31st, 2008

With gas prices out of site this summer it is not wonder people are watching fuel oil prices so closely. The price per gallon is quickly approaching $4 leaving lots of families wondering how to put food on the table at the same time. Of course the only way out of higher prices is to increase the supply of gasoline for sale. So contact your congressman or senator and tell them to get busy allowing companies to drill for more oil. Why make us suffer any longer as we search for alternative energy sources?

It is difficult looking through one perth limousine hire directory after another. Most of them have no detailed lookup. I finally found a really good directory at www.limodirectory.com.au in Australia. I ended up hiring a Chrysler limousine for my anniverary.

Federal Car Auctions

July 26th, 2008

If you want to buy cheap cars, one of the best ways to do that is via federal car auctions. These car auctions give you access to seized and repossessed cars that are still well maintained at very cheap prices.

You can often buy a government seized car at prices off 90% retail prices. One such federal car auction is the US general services administration or GSA. GSA is the government agency in charge of federal equipment purchase for other government agencies and departments.

One of the advantages of buying a car from GSA at federal car auctions is that the cars are usually surplus vehicles with low mileage and only one previous owner.

Do note that you need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver license before you are allowed to bid at federal car auctions.

How To Buy Repo Cars

July 22nd, 2008

Many people who are buying second hand cars did not know that they can buy repo cars ie bank repossessed cars at a far cheaper price. In fact, you can buy repossessed cars at seized car auctions for up to 90% off market prices.

Most of the vehicles up for auction are usually stolen or criminal vehicles. Some are government agency vehicles that being sold. You might be surprised to know some of the vehicles are still in very good condition, almost brand new. Some have been driven for less than a year.

Since these vehicles will depreciate in value fast and it will cost the government thousands of dollars to upkeep and store these vehicles, they are often let go for very dirt cheap prices. So if you want to buy repo cars, be sure to check out a seized car auction in your neighbourhood.

Water4Gas Review

July 19th, 2008

With oil prices rising steadily every week, many people are seriously searching for alternative cheaper sources of fuel. There was a invention that can use water to run cars. That is the basis for water4gas and here is my water4gas review.

Many people do not realize water can be used as a supplemental fuel source in our cars. In fact, this invention was invented nearly 80 years old but at that time, fuel cost were still relatively cheap and there wasn’t a need for alternative fuel sources.

All it takes is a few simple modifications to your car to be able to accept water as a fuel source. Not only does it run more efficiently, it also produces less CO2 and cause less pollution. Water4Gas will provide the illustrations and detailed working on how to do that. Click here for a more indepth Water4Gas Review.

Seized Vehicle Auctions – Tips When Buying Cars At Seized Car Auctions

July 16th, 2008

Seized vehicle auctions are one of the best ways to save some money and buy cheap cars. However, it isn’t always easy to bid and get the car you wanted at the right price.

Here are some tips you should know when buying cars at seized vehicle auctions.

1. Get to the car auction early. As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. Going early allows you to pick out the cars you want and inspect them thoroughly.

2. Determine the premium for the buyer for the particular vehicle auction and factor that into your cost. Usually, it is about 5% to 10% of the winning bid.

3. Make sure the VIN tags match. Mismatch VIN tags could means the car is stolen or wrecked.

Best Advice On How To Improve Gas Mileage

July 16th, 2008

A key factor which a lot of people don’t pay attention to when it comes to <strong>how to improve gas mileage, is to drive in a smooth manner without sudden spurts of speeding up or braking. Avoid screeching to a halt at the traffic lights and gradually increase speed when negotiating hills. Sitting idly in traffic uses more fuel so it’s better to minimize short, urban journeys. Always keep in the highest gear possible, as low gears have to do more work to drive the car. When out on the highway, not going over the speed limit is the best advice on how to improve gas mileage. Keep to 55mph if possible.

Should You Do Your Own Auto Repair

July 16th, 2008

Today’s cars are more sophisticated and complex than ever, and it takes a quality automotive technician to really diagnose and fix the problem. Don’t get me wrong – if you have someone there to help you who knows what they are doing, you can probably get enough help to work your way through. Nonetheless, if you are even the slightest bit unsure of your abilities, you should probably leave the auto repairs to the expert. But one way you to get around this problem is to get a professional to diagnose the problem and then do the auto repair by yourself.

nanny cams

July 11th, 2008

You can find hidden nanny cams that come hidden behind objects as simple as a digital clock to something as bizarre as a can of soup. When choosing which type of object to go with, it is best to stay with the practical. You want to select something that will truly blend into the surroundings, and that can realistically remain in one location without seeming out of place.

Fuel Flow Meters Are Important In Combustion Engines

July 10th, 2008

A combustion engine works by providing just enough fuel into a small chamber, where that fuel is then ignited. What this does is provide the energy needed to propel your car, lawn mower, boat, or whatever you happen to be using that requires a combustible engine. It’s necessary, however, that the combustible engine is provided with just the right amount of fuel. What you need then is a fuel flow meter. A fuel flow meter will calculate exactly the right amount of fuel to get the job done. This allows the engine to run efficiently, it allows you to save money so that you’re not overusing your fuel and it allows the engine to work as it’s meant to. It’s important that you inspect your fuel flow meter often, or have it replaced often, so that you are always using the correct amount of fuel. Even if your fuel flow meter is off by a little bit, it could damage your engine or end up costing you more money than normal.

Car Buyers Guide

July 10th, 2008

I have become quite a fond of car buyers guides. I am not making any purchase, whether of a used car or a new one, without consulting a car buyers guide first. I haven’t stopped at that either. I have a friend who is an auto dealer. He lives across the country or else I would buy cars from him, but I can still get car buying tips from him. He tells me about what models to invest in and which ones not to.

Air Powered Cars

July 8th, 2008

For decades now, people have been searching for cleaner alternatives to today’s methods of transportation. Air powered cars are just the newest idea to hit the market, but they seem promising. Previous ideas have failed to completely deliver on the idea of clean fuel. Hybrid engines are a good start, but they still involve internal combustion which pollutes the air. Electric cars are an even better idea, but they have run into some serious technical problems. Batteries are heavy and expensive, and the cars tend to not have a very good range or enough acceleration. Additionally, many of electric batteries pose serious problems when they have to be disposed of. Even hydrogen cars haven’t proven viable so far – although they still may yet.

Luxury Cars Are Catching Up

July 4th, 2008

Most automobile companies have started to put a huge emphasis on making cars that are friendlier for the environment. They have started to produce quite a few more hybrid vehicles for the general public to purchase. However, those hybrids can almost be considered luxury vehicles. They may not look like luxury sports cars, but they may end up costing you almost as much to purchase. Some sticker prices will have the hybrids costing almost as much as that super sporty little convertible that you see zooming past you on the highways. Sure, the promises of how much you’ll be saving at the gas pumps are rather alluring.

Donating Car

June 26th, 2008

The organization that takes your car is required by law to let you know what happened to it, within 30 days of a title transferring transaction or donation. A car donation must then result in your getting a receipt for the original transfer to the towing service, then a second receipt telling you what happened with your old car. Your wishes have nothing to do with it after the moment you sign the title over.

Even though you’re doing the donating, cars that are not deemed nice enough to get a nice, fat return on the retail market (and that would be most of them given up for donation) are sold as quickly as possible. So, if you call the auto donation service with the largest ad in the yellow pages, you have a good chance of having your car sold quickly, at a wholesale auction and netting as little as 5% of the amount you might make if you tried to make a private sale of the car yourself.

Car donation

June 22nd, 2008

Cars that may be problematic to sell as a whole are sometimes able to be parted out and sold for greater value. If you’re handy with online auctions as well as mechanics, this might be a great way for you to make the money that you then donate as a cash gift to the charity of your choice. Everyone takes cash, and you’re still able to write that off on your taxes assuming you’re prepared to file itemized deductions with your Form 1040.

There are always options, even in a donated car is more trouble than it’s worth for your favorite charity. In the end, your own personal level of commitment to the well-being of the NPO in question is paramount.

Remote controlled dump trucks

May 13th, 2008

Remote controlled dump trucks

Remote controlled dump trucks, though not nearly as fast as the buggies, are good at carrying hamsters. Incidentally, they’re also good at carrying toy soldiers and Lincoln Logs and sticks and dirt. If you have a remote controlled loader along with the dump truck you can move anything, even mashed potatoes. These benefits garner lots of cool points for the loader/dump truck combination, but they’re not very fast at all. Not being fast hurts them a bit in the cool department, so maybe we need to look elsewhere for the coolest remote controlled car.

Cheap used cars in my area

April 29th, 2008

I can never find cheap used cars in my area!

I don’t envy you if your area is out in the sticks. The fact that you’re reading this means that you are at least plugged into the worldwide web. So where there’s the web there’s hope.

I guess you’ve already scoured your local paper, classified ads, Ebay and even got in your car and gone looking. So what’s left?

Have you looked online? By that I mean the online auto auction sites.

There are a lot out there; so if you’ve already come across some, maybe you’ve not joined and started searching because you’ve been overwhelmed.

There’s no need to be, you just need some gentle guidance to put you on the path to those that are really good.

The best are those that sell off government, customs and police department seized cars.

There are thousands and thousands of these out there and thanks to the seizure and surplus laws of America; they are all allowed to be sold off at greatly reduced prices. (It is very expensive to store seized cars, so it makes financial sense to sell them off instead)

The best news for you is that the best of these sites guarantee that they include listings for every state! Phew- you might finally be getting somewhere.

For those of us who’ve already discovered these online auction sites for cheap used cars ourselves. We’ve benefited from buying second hand cars that are only a few years old for up to 90% off what the car was originally worth.

I can’t recommend them highly enough and when you’re struggling to find cheap used cars in your own area, they’re a life saver. Good luck.
