Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

A lot of businesses, including smaller ones have a kitchen in which there is usually a microwave, small fridge and a kettle. These are the same appliances that you would typically find in a residential home. The larger businesses may have a more full-sized kitchen with a stove and regular fridge. Some might even have a dishwasher! Businesses like manufacturing companies and factories are the ones that have the heavy duty appliances. Some of these appliances include very large freezers and refrigerators. Some factories like to provide frozen treats for their employees in the summer because of the lack of air conditioning, and as such, they need a much more heavy-duty freezer than a home would typically have. The fridges in these factories would also be much larger in order to house all of the lunches of the employees. Some homes with bigger families can have a large fridge, but not usually as large as the factory fridges. Toronto appliance have a wide range to cater to all your personal needs. My office has the heavy duty one shipped from here and it is working fine since the past 2 years that we colleagues have been using it.

Because monounsaturated fat is lowers the “bad” cholesterol levels, it may assist in reducing heart disease. Adding monounsaturated fats to your diet shouldn’t be difficult as they are found in natural foods like canola, olive, and peanut oils, as well as most nuts, and certain cold water fish species such salmon, halibut, mackerel, and rainbow trout. They are also the main component of tea seed oil and olive oil. Most monounsaturated fats are rich in Vitamin E. Fat helps the body absorb fat-soluble nutrients such as vitamins A, D, E, and K. If you live long enough on the planet Earth, you KNOW Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant vitamin and is called the youth vitamin.

Cooking Contests

Monday, January 14th, 2008

These days cooking contests seem to be all the rage. Many times you will see television shows where the skills, creative talent, imagination and the cooking abilities of two different teams of people are pitted against each other. With these cooking contests the emphasis is on enjoying yourself while you are cooking in the kitchen with your team mates.

To the audience cooking contests begin only when the contestants are in the studios. The competition actually begins long before that, when the various contestants go to buy the food items that they need in their meal creations. Unlike us contestants for cooking contests are given only a certain amount of money. From this limited budget they must buy various vegetables, fruits, spices, meats, fish, sauces, poultry and other items that they want.
