Where To Find Video Game Tester Jobs

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

If you are an avid video gamer, then one of your favourite jobs should be video game testing jobs. Just imagine able to beta play the latest video game and getting paid at the same time. Video game testers are also pretty well paid.

Though the pay is less than that of a game programmer or art director, game testers can still be expected to earn up to $120 an hour testing video games. However, it isn’t always a lot of fun play testing games. I mean it’s cool for a while, but after going through the same level 200 times, it quickly becomes boring and a chore.

If you want video game tester jobs, be prepared for that. It still not that bad considering most people get paid hating what they do and you get paid for doing what you enjoy. If you want to know how to find video game testing jobs, I recommend you check out Gamer Testing Ground.

Once you have answered all these questions, you will then be presented with your term life insurance premiums. The term life insurance premiums are the monthly financial amount that you pay in order to keep your entire policy active and in effect

The Addiction Of Working Abroad

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Working abroad was a was a way to put off domestic life for a few years. I was actually in a volunteer abroad program. They gave me a small living stipend, with room and board in exchange for international human rights work. It was a really rewarding program. Until you have seen how the other half live, you can’t possibly understand this world. My work abroad really taught me the startling inequalities that exist, and the need to establish a more just and equitable world.

The weird thing was how addictive the whole experience was. Once you get a taste for working abroad, sometimes it never goes away. When I started my work abroad, I was surprised at how many older people were on the same volunteer program that I was. Literally half of us were over the age of 40, and about 10 people in a program of 60 were over the age of 55. Soon, however, I understood why. There is a thrill in traveling that is beyond anything else in the world.

Finding Astronomy Jobs Is Hard Work

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

When I graduated with a degree in astronomy, I thought that the world was my oyster. I believed that it would be no problem to find an astronomy job at one of the top research institutes and do what I had always dreamed of. I think in retrospect that I was just a bit naive. Finding the perfect job in astronomy has been somewhat of a personal odyssey for me.

The real problem is that there is a lot of competition for astronomy jobs. And also, there aren’t that many good jobs. It all depends where you want to go. Most of the astronomy and astrophysics work is done in universities all over the world. The best thing that an astronomer can do is to get a position as a junior professor at a school with a great observatory, or contacts with some government astronomy satellite. That way, he can teach classes and get a gig working on important research. There is nothing like working at a major research institution. Not only are the opportunities for intellectual exploration stupendous in university astronomy jobs, but the pay is pretty good as well. Plus, once you get tenure, you don’t have to worry about losing your job any more.

Giving Employees Regular Feedback

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Give employees regular feedback. Let the employee know when he is doing a good job. This also works the other way, let the employee know when you are not pleased with the outcome and why. This is a great opportunity to let the employee know how they can do better next time. Also, now is a good time to ask the employee if there is anything that you as a manager can do to help with the change. Wait for feedback from the employee. Talk it over and have a real discussion. This will make the employee feel like you are not upset about the job, but that you are genuinely concerned and willing to help correct the problem.

Search for the good jobs

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

When you are laid off or fired, you may begin to panic. There may be no worse feeling than not knowing where your next paycheck is going to come from. Sometimes we lose our jobs through no fault of our own, and other times we may have an idea of what we had done wrong. Either way, you have to get right on your search for something new. One thing that I was taught in college was that your search for jobs should be taken very seriously, almost as if it were a job.

When I was out of college there weren’t really many places online in which to do a search, but there were a few. My search for jobs was done through the classifieds and through the school placement program. This was never easy, and being right out of college never makes it easy to find something good. What is important when you are in this type of position is to treat your search as if you were going to the office. Spend your entire day doing things related to finding a job, and you will have many great possibilities soon enough.

You should always start your search for jobs early in the morning and spend your entire day on the hunt. This should include sharpening your resume, studying the current trends in your particular field, and scoping out job leads. You should find great sites online that have job offerings in your area, and you should spend a lot of time on there looking for leads. Of course, the most important things are going on interviews and sending out resumes. Spend a good amount of time doing these things, and you will find what you are looking for.

A search for jobs is never easy, and some have an easier time than others. When you don’t have a lot of experience yet, don’t be discouraged if you have to go on many interviews before you get an offer. This is just the way it is, and it does not mean you are not a good candidate. If, however, your search for jobs stretches out into months, and you have been doing all you can, you may have to think about a few things. Rethink your resume and your approach, and seek help from someone to find out if you are doing something wrong. There may be just a few small things that you are missing, and that can turn everything around.

Employment Discrimination Cases That Have Helped Shape Today’s Laws

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Employment discrimination is an issue that touches many Americans. The landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 did away with segregation and ensured working rights for African Americans and included the famous Title VII which prohibits employers to discriminate based on race, sex, religion or national origin. Since that time, a number of employment discrimination cases have made their way to the Supreme Court and have effectively changed how employment discrimination law is practiced today. In this article, we’ll take a look at a few of the employment discrimination cases that were judged by the Supreme Court and have shaped the law as we know it today.

The first of the employment discrimination cases of note, Griggs v. Duke Power Company, dates from 1971 and was an important victory for African Americans. The Court decided that it is unlawful to expect that certain educational requirements be met or to administer intelligence tests that are not related to the job to be filled. In many cases, these requirements or intelligence tests were an underhanded way to exclude African Americans from being considered for employment.

Vodka is considered to be one of the more potent alcoholic drinks that you can get. This drink is made from various grains and distilled until the smooth flavor and strength has been achieved.
