New LG Blu-ray Players For 2010

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

LG’s new Blu-ray line-up for 2010 caters to all budget levels, from the entry model BD550 to their flagship BD590. The BD550 features a sleek crystal-edge design, smooth 1080p 24/60hz high-def video and high resolution 192khz surround sound for an immersive home entertainment experience. The BD590 has new features compared to last year’s highly successful BD390. A small change is that for the new LG players, the latest software for streaming from Netflix will be included.

The new LG BD590 Blu-ray player is also the first Blu-ray player to feature an integrated 250GB hard drive, allowing for easy storage and instant playback of music, photos, personal videos and movies from Vudu. Incorporating LG’s NetCast Entertainment Access, the LG BD590 offers convenient access to a virtually endless array of entertainment content options with a large variety of content options. While the lack of 3D capabilities may make the LG BD 590 seem lacking compared to other flagship players, it is likely that the BD590 will actually be a more useful product since 3D players will require additional and massive cost outlays in a new 3D TV and 3D discs.

Going To A Music Recording Studio

Monday, February 1st, 2010

If you are in a band, sing on your own, or do any type of musical expression, there may come a day when you want to go to a music recording studio to record some of your own music. This can be very satisfying for anyone who is creative and wants to share what they have written with others. This is also one of the more tricky places to go, depending on what you hope to get out of your endeavor. When you choose somewhere to go, think carefully about the price, what you are being offered, and how realistic everything is before you sign on the dotted line or pay any money up front. At times, your trip to a music recording studio is going to be pretty straight forward.

Recording in a Music Studio

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

At times, your trip to a music recording studio is going to be pretty straight forward. You are offered a price for a certain amount of work (or a by the hour rate), and you go in, record, and take home your product. For many people going in for the first time, this is what they do. As a part of your price you may be offered pressing for your CD (if you choose to use that format) and other duplication fees. Again, all of these things are for a package price you have agreed to before you began, and probably need to pay before you start.

In some other cases, you may come upon someone who claims to be a producer as well as a sound recording engineer. This can be a problem for some people and a great break for other people. They may offer recording and packaging, but you may see the price is much higher. Included in what they offer you they may say they are going to shop you around to try to get you signed. They may offer some other things too. For the most part, this is not typical of a music recording studio that most unknown performers can afford. When this comes your way, it may seem very exciting, but you have to settle down and use your head.

Everybody can learn to sing

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Reading the lines above you might be thinking that often singing is rather “the act of producing awful sounds” and that the person exalting this noise would never be able to sing a clear tone. However, I assure you that with the correct practice, over time, anyone and everyone can learn how to sing.

First things first, you have to want to sing and you should probably like to sing. If you don’t like to sing because you sound terrible, that is ok as long as you are willing to learn. Second, remember that while I recommend that you use every chance you have to sing, like in the shower, in the car, while you clean the house, this should not substitute your daily practice.

Learning a new skill like singing requires practice, like all other skills you want to learn. No one is born with a voice like Pavarotti, so if you want to sound like him you need to practice like him.

Learning How To Play Guitar

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

“How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” the old saying goes. The answer, of course, is “Practice, practice, practice!”

It’s an axiom meant to enforce the importance of hard work and dedication when it comes to learning an instrument. Whether it’s the xylophone or the trumpet or the drums… gotta practice if you want to do it right. And it’s no different if you’re learning how play guitar.

Guitarists are ubiquitous at this point. Walk through a college dorm and every third room will have someone sitting there with their six-string, plucking out everything from Bob Dylan to The Killers. They’ve all taken the time to figure out enough to make a tune, and though some of them may not look like the type who’d work hard at anything except being ironic, don’t let their looks fool you: They’ve worked hard.

And that’s how play guitar. You pick it up, learn the basics and work at it every day til you reach a level of proficiency that suits you. It may become a passion, or it may become a bit of a burden that you’ll soon give up. But if it’s the former, you won’t regret the hard work you’ve put in!

The first step is learnign the basics. Guitars have six strings, each a different width and tension to give a different tone. When learning how play guitar, that’s step one – understanding which sounds each string will make. Press the strings against the fretboard – or neck – of the guitar to change the tone, making it slightly higher the higher up the fretboard you go. The raised ridges along the neck are the frets, by the way. These are all terms you’ll learn and remember once you start learning how to play guitar.

Step two is just getting your hands used to the actions of playing. The tips of your fingers will hurt a bit at first, but in time you’ll build calluses. You also might end up with your wrists and knuckles a little sore, since you’ll be twisting them in a bit of an unnatural motion. Don’t worry though – just pop an aspirin and keep working at it, because those muscles and tendons will strengthen as you continue to learn how play guitar. Practice, practice, practice!

Once you’ve figured out how to produce the tones you want, and you have a certain amount of fluidity in moving from tone to tone, it’s time to start learning your scales. A scale is an “octave” of notes – do-re-me-fa-so-la-ti-do – upon which all music is based. Master the scale, and you’re well on your way, because once you’ve got that down you’ve truly learned how play guitar.

The next step, of course, is learning how to play it well. Like everything else… practice! There are no short cuts when it comes to learning a musical instrument – believe me, if there were, I would have found them! But there aren’t, especially if you want to learn how play guitar well. So put your head down, pick your axe up, and work hard. In the end, if you really love it, it’ll be well worth the time spent.

1980’s Greatest Music Hits

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Music in the 1980s was different than that which belonged to any other generation. It was about punk, style and rebellion. The music scene in the 1980s was ruled by soft rock and hip hop amongst other styles of music. Starting as a cult genre in America in the 1970s, many greatest hits of the 80’s were by Hip Hop and Rap artists. This movement was an important influence on pop music in general and on fashion and dance moves.

A lot of artists in the 80s at this time dispensed with the traditional guitar format and based records on synthesizers, drum machines and other electronic instruments. It was the time of young men and women with big hair and shoulder pads crouched over keyboards! These songs were great to dance to and a stark contrast to the punk music that had gone before, In the UK, the New Romantics were bands with flamboyant outfits and band names.

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Ways To Learn How To Sing Better

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Hard work, perseverance and proper usage of talents, that one is born with, are they keys to be a successful singer. Success does not happen in a day, it may take years and years for success to come into your hands.

To succeed in the music industry, you also need to take some serious trainings to be able to learn how to sing better. Hard work and lots of practice will definitely take you some place towards your dream to develop better singing voice and to become a successful singer.

Larynx control is one of the first steps you will need to take in order to gain better control over your singing voice. How you sound, your overall vocal tone, depends on the position of your larynx – also commonly referred to as the “voice box”. If the larynx is too relaxed or too tense, the vocal tone will suffer as a result. The best position for the larynx to be in is in the middle, but when a person starts to sing, the muscles of the larynx are unable to stay relaxed. If you truly want to learn how to sing better then you must learn how to keep these muscles relaxed while singing.

Learning to extend your vocal range is also another important way that you can develop a great singing voice since it can give an entirely new dimension to your voice and add an element of excitement as well. By learning how to complete simple exercises in a specific order, you will be able to effectively warm up and strengthen your vocal chords so that when you learn how to sing better you will also be gaining a full octave as well.

Once you have learned to relax your larynx and then extend your vocal range, you then need to learn how to blend your vocal resonances. Your vocal resonance is the tone that resounds in your mouth, your throat and in your nasal cavities. The final key in learning how to sing better is practicing how to balance these three different sounds, once you are able to do that the tone you produce will be superb.

Bear in mind that warming up is necessary to keep your voice relaxed and vocal chords loose, therefore allowing you to sing better. Just like the athletes, they need to do some stretching to avoid injury. A great singing voice can be greatly achieved only if you put time and effort in learning how to sing better.

I have always enjoyed singing but I could never hit the high notes. My voice felt as if it was falling apart as soon as I tried. I decided to get information on how to sing higher. I found that by having the correct vocal exercises, this would help me connect with my vocal cords.

By doing this, I was able to have my vocal cords sing with me instead of against me and the tune stayed together and was shorten in length. With some more practice I was able to lengthen the sound of the higher pitches. It is amazing how with exercise, you can change the way you sound.
