On the Effectiveness of Marriage Counseling

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

What do you really think about marriage counseling? Do you think that it can help couples resolve differences and rekindle love by working through relationship problems, but is it right for every marriage? According to various online sources, some research has shown that marriage counseling is not as effective as people think, that women seem to get more from it than men, and that it might not have a lasting effect on the marriage. However, seeking professional help before problems reach a critical stage is beneficial. All couples experience conflict in their marriages from time to time, and it seems that happy couples apparently know how to handle their disagreements better because their relationship is built on a foundation of affection and friendship, unhappy couples do not have this skill. So how do you know if it’s time to seek marriage counseling or professional help?

Giving and receiving gifts is a long-standing tradition on special occasions such as a wedding. Family and friends gather to attend and ensure that the couple has what will become one of the best days in their lives. Groomsmen are the closest relatives or friends of the groom and they have known him for a considerable amount of time, have been with him through many things in life, therefore they are chosen to witness and be part of the wedding day in the function of groomsmen.

Bahamas honeymoon vacation

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I’m an American kind of guy. I’m always hearing some excited couple ranting on about their upcoming Bahamas honeymoon vacation, or trip to the Caribbean. However, I like to look within the 50 states. After all, I certainly haven’t seen all 50 yet. So why would I want to travel outside of the US for a Bahamas honeymoon when I can enjoy an ideal get-away in Savannah, Georgia or the Pocono’s? I don’t think most Americans even think of these awesome spots to visit. I constantly here girls ramble on about going to Paris or Rome. Then when I ask them where they’ve been besides their home state, their answer is nowhere. This is a laugh. Why are Americans so focused on foreign countries when they haven’t even seen a fraction of this one? Okay, sure a Bahamas honeymoon may sound great, but from what I’ve heard it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. My buddy from college traveled there for a spring break and he said it was filthy. Maybe it was just the area he stayed in, or maybe not. He did mention, however, that Hawaii is a much nicer place to vacation.

Get the photographer to knock out your ceremony pictures and bridal portraits on your wedding day!

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

This is an informative story of a bride telling her views about having bridal portraits done on her wedding day instead of in the studio while doing her engagement pictures.

You may have a different opinion about hiring a photographer to shoot your bridal photos or you still may want to do a more traditional wedding ceremony and have your “portraits of the bride” done in advance.

I know that these type of pictures are important to many women, but for me, it not only saved money to skip this part of the wedding images, it wasn’t something that I felt I needed to do. For some reason, I wanted to be dressed up in my dress and looking wonderful on my wedding day only. I thought it would not be as special the second time.

I was right. I would not have felt as good if I had put my dress on for bridal portraits before the wedding day, and I certainly didn’t feel like doing it after the fact. Instead, I did all the photos I wanted the day of the wedding and left it that way.”

You will find many options to choose when you decide to create your bridal portraits. The final decision is up to the bride, the groom and the families involved in the wedding party. You make your own choice.
