Getting A Useful Software Version Control
It is simply an automated event which tracks the changes reflected in a particular or group of files over a time. The software mainly deals with comparing two versions of a given file and highlights the differences. Version control software basically maintains every niche of the event, like the version, modified date, source that modified it and other relevant information. It is an important tool and has a respectable position under Configuration management. The concept behind it is, one copy of the file is maintained in the repository and if the file is needed to be edited, a copy of the original file is given for editing and then the changes are tracked comparing with the original file residing in the repository. Software version control also features with roll back facility where the file can be restored to previous version, thus emerging as a powerful tool.
