Solar Power Home
As we try to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels solar power is one of the first alternatives that come to mind. We like the fact that it is clean and unobtrusive. The visual impact is far less than when installing a wind turbine. Especially when building a new house the installation can be nicely incorporated into the structure.
One way to use solar power is by using solar panels that convert the sun’s rays into electricity. In times of low consumption you can even send power to the grid and get payed for it!
A second way of using solar power in the home is for heating water which can then be used for the showers or to heat a pool. This reduces the expense of heating the water to the desired temperature with a water heater. This kind of installation does require a bit moer maintenance but it is a simple technology.
