There are lots of easy-going denim skirts to consider as well. If you can make clothing out of the material, you can make a wrap skirt out of it.
This is why so many people who are talented (or not so talented) with the sewing machine find making this kind of clothing so appealing. The wrap skirt is simple to make and some argue that you don’t even need a pattern! Personally, I prefer to buy my clothing already made.
