With the current explosion of home foreclosures, the term “loss mitigation” is bandied about a lot.

What is loss mitigation? Can it really help someone who is in danger of losing his home to foreclosure?

The true definition of loss mitigation means quite simply that a homeowner’s loss is “mitigated”, lessened or made less severe.
