Benefits Of Green Tea Being Widely Accepted
People have been drinking tea forever, and the Chinese have long believed in the healing properties as well as preventive nature of tea. Recently, even some in the medical community have embraced the healing benefits of green tea.
It is being touted as offering benefits to those suffering from cancer, arthritis, high cholesterol, heart disease and infection. While the exact process of healing is still under study, few in the east and now the west dispute the benefits of green tea.
Research has shown that catechin polyphenols contained in the tea is a catalyst for the benefits of green tea. Serving as anti-oxidants, they help promote the immune system fight off certain ailments.
It is more prevalent in green tea mainly to due to the way it is processed. Black teas and oolong tea is often fermented, which can reduce the benefits of the polyphenols. However, the benefit of green tea is preserved through steaming the leaves, allowing them to maintain the properties of the polyphenols.
The tea is consumed through various methods such as in hot tea and ice tea and depending on the process can be as strong, or stronger than black or oolong teas.
Numerous companies are taking advantage of new information about the benefits of green tea as they rush to meet consumer demand for the product being touted as a health benefit.
