How to Start Thinking Positively
First off, it’s going to take some practice. If you spent the first 35 years of your life cutting yourself down at every opportunity you’re not going to turn that around in a minute or day or a week. It’s like exercising. a weeks worth of pushups won’t turn you from a couch potato blob into an athlete.
But it can be done if you give it more time. Like exercise, if you want to gain and maintain your results you have to keep it up. You can learn to think positively, and stop the negative thinking, with some time and effort and practice .
Don’t think of the white polar bear.
Say what? Thought about it, didn’t you. The first step is to skip the don’t/won’t words. For example, “I don’t want…” or “I won’t do…”. Think about what you want to do/think/say, not what you don’t want. Focus on where you want to go and you’ll avoid the obstacles for more often than if you focus on them, instead.
