The designs of Oriental rugs are its trademark. Every region has its own set of designs, which they zealously guard and these are passed on from generation to generation. The patterns make the rug. The exquisite details clearly outshine the lustrous quality of the rugs when buyers make choices. Basically there are floral designs and geometrical patterns. Persia and India are leaders in floral designing whereas Caucasian and Turkoman rugs employ geometrical patterns.
