Granite counters a worthwile investment

I have white countertop in my kitchen. This means whenever something spills I run the risk of a stain. Though it is a nice countertop, it tends to hold on to red dye very easily. I can eventually get it out, but it often takes a number of scrubbing for it to disappear. At one point, after my daughter had spilled Kool-Aid, I had to use Comet to get my countertop clean. I am beginning to wonder if granite counters would be a better alternative to what we have now. I can’t change the countertop in the house I live in, but I can certainly choose what I want when we buy a house.
